Introduction
I previously posted about installing a PiStorm32 Lite on an Amiga 1200 to provide emulated CPU acceleration, RAM, and hard drive support. The PiStorm plugs into the trapdoor expansion slot on the underside of the computer and features a Raspberry Pi that provides the emulation. The Pi does generate some heat and the stock trapdoor lacks ventilation. Fortunately, it is possible to 3D print a new trapdoor with lots of ventilation.

Instructions
There are a number of STL files you can download featuring different designs. I went with this free honeycomb design that worked well. Here is one that features a cutout for a fan. Here is another design with mounts for a fan. Other can be found using Google.
I decided to print my trap door using PETG on my Bambu H2S printer. PETG is stronger than PLA and I had some translucent clear color I thought would look nice. The print took less than 60 minutes on the “Sport” faster print speed with 50% infill for strength.

Comments
I am not sure how important the fan option is. I am opting out of the fan since I don’t use my Amiga for hours on end. Rather, I usually boot it up for an hour or less at a time. We will see!
As you can see below, the piece fit perfectly.
You can find these for sale if you don’t have a 3D printer. Here is another on eBay.
