Download and Run xSysInfo for Benchmarking Amiga Computers (15-30 mins)

Task: Download and Run xSysInfo for Benchmarking Amiga Computers

Needed: xSysInfo, Amiga 680X0 computer or emulator

Time: 15-30 minutes

Introduction

I have previously posted about the SysInfo utility for benchmarking and evaluating Amiga 680X0 computers. This is a useful tool for testing the speed of your CPU or quantifying the onboard RAM. While very useful, SysInfo is known to have some inaccuracies. This prompted the development of a new tool called xSysInfo that was programmed from scratch to address some of these issues as well as limitations on the ability to evaluate some of the later CPUs such as the 68060. A lot of the functionality is the same.

Instructions

Download xSysInfo executable and ADF files from GitHub and give it a boot!

Below is version 0.10.0 of the software running on my Amiga 4000 with a 68040 CPU, 2MB chip RAM, and 16MB fast RAM.

Comments

I am looking forward to more development of this. I love that it is redesigned from the bottom up.
