Task: Play Centipede on a Commodore VIC-20
Needed: VIC-20, Centipede cartridge, disk, ROM, or Penultimate 2/3 Cartridge
Time: 5-10 minutes or more
Introduction
I grew up with Atari home computers and received the Centipede cartridge one year for Christmas. I loved playing this game and am pretty good at it and its successor Millipede. I was curious to try the VIC-20 version that was published in 1983 by Atarisoft. I was pleasantly surprised at both the graphics and the smooth gameplay. Definitely worth a try!

Instructions
I tried Centipede using my Penultimate 2 cartridge that has it pre-installed. I highly recommend this route.
Original cartridges can be found on eBay for $20 to $50 depending on whether it is boxed and condition.
You can also find the ROMs on archive.org and elsewhere for SD-card devices.
Comments
A fun game for the VIC-20.
