Task: Purchase the Penultimate+2 for Loading Software and Expanding RAM on Your Commodore VIC-20 8-Bit Computer
Needed: Web browser, VIC-20 Computer
Time: 10-15 minutes
Introduction
The Commodore VIC-20 computer could load software via cassette, floppy disk, or cartridge. The easiest and fastest way to load software today is using modern storage solutions that emulate that process. I have been very impressed with the Penultimate+2 solution for loading software and lots of other useful tools from Tynemouth Software. Here are just a few of the many useful features:
- Load over 200 pre-installed games from a user-friendly menu
- Expand the RAM of your VIC-20 from 5K to as much as 35K
- Run a Dead Test+ for the VIC-20 or Self Test for the Penultimate+2 to diagnose problems
There are tons of other utilities, development tools, and features to explore. This is an amazing device that significantly expands what you can do with your VIC-20.

Instructions
Purchase the Penultimate+2 from TFW8B.com for about $65. There is an option to pay more to include an SD2IEC SD card for loading software and accessing it from the device. I didn’t get this option but now wish I had.
All you need to do to use this device is plug it into the cartridge port and boot the computer! A nice user-friendly menu will pop up giving you easy access to all of its features.
Be sure and check out the instructional videos at the bottom of the TFW8B.com sales page.
